The AHPC Alcohol Rapid Test is a convenient saliva screening test designed to detect alcohol and provide an approximate indication of relative blood alcohol concentration.
The test contains a reactive colour pad that changes colour when alcohol is present in the saliva sample. The resulting colour is compared with the reference chart on the foil pouch to estimate the relative alcohol level.
- Rapid saliva-based alcohol screening
- Simple, non-invasive sample collection
- No additional testing equipment required other than a timer
- Approximate detection range from 0.02% to 0.30%
- Easy colour-comparison result
- Results available in approximately 3–5 minutes
- Individually packaged
- Suitable for self-testing
Directions for use
Wait at least 15 minutes after eating, drinking, smoking, using breath mints or placing any other substance in the mouth.
Place the absorbent wick beneath the tongue until the colour pad is completely saturated. Read the result after 3–5 minutes and compare the reaction pad with the colour scale printed on the foil pouch.
Important information
This test is intended as a preliminary alcohol screening tool only. A specific confirmatory analytical method is required where a confirmed result is needed. Alcohol-containing medicines, cleaning products, perfumes and alcohol vapours in the surrounding environment may interfere with the result.
For external use and self-testing only. Do not reuse. Store in the sealed pouch at 2–30°C and consult the complete instructions before testing.
